Afternoon Tea With Alice In Wonderland

What is the use of afternoon tea without beautifully decorated cups and plates? Check your waist coat pocket watch and see that it is, in fact, time for tea with this fantastical Alice In Wonderland collection from V&A, for those who desire tea time to be ever ‘curiouser and curiouser’!

Decorated with hand-drawn illustrations taken from the original Alice In Wonderland book, this collection is beautifully made of fine china with real gold decal and gold embroidered textiles.

A curious cake stand features a teacup top tier, mugs and cups are dressed with dainty handles and intriguing interior detail, and cake pedestals and teapots feature in mini sizes suitable for the littlest dormouse. The black and white illustrations, laced with gold, show Alice, the Mad Hatter, the splendidly dressed White Rabbit and the mysterious Cheshire Cat.

Each product is hidden within a puzzle gift box with a ‘Pull Me’ tab of ribbon which will reveal the surprise hiding within, making this a wonderfully giftable collection.

This Alice In Wonderland collection draws upon a playing card game from 1918, based on the original book illustrations by Sir John Tenniel (1820-1914) and found at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
