Kew Gardens Floral Mug Collection

April 13, 2010adminFeatured, News16

Introducing a brand new collection of beautiful fine bone china mugs using the celebrated botanical prints from Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840).  Redouté achieved success as the official court  artist of Queen Marie Antoinette.  In 1798 he was appointed to paint the flowers of Malmaison by Josephine Bonaparte.

There are eight designs to choose from including the ever popular Rose, Primrose, Peony and Camellia.  The depth and clarity of colour in the decal is truly inspiring, breathing life into each individual flower.  These designs were taken from the Kew Library which houses one of the world’s most extensive collections of botanical illustrations containing more than 175,000 prints and drawings of plants. The range will be launched at Exclusively Housewares in June.

I have bought 3 mugs from Waitrose from the Kew Gardens collection, they were £5.50 each. They seem smaller than the ones advertised in the Kew shop or Creative-tops and also they have only displayed 3 designs, iris, poinsettia, and redoute classic rose. Are there any other designs in the series available? if so will Waitrose be stocking them? The mugs are 8.5 cm high and carry the Kew gardens label/creative tops. I hope you can advise me as they are truly lovely designs, thank you.

I have bought a number of your Kew Gardens floral mugs in the iris design. These are the 8cm tall ones which were available from Waitrose. I should like to buy more but Waitrose have informed me that they are no longer available. Could you let me know where any of the mugs in this design are sold? You seem to have an excellent product but something seems to be very wrong with your marketing. You appear to have products for which there is a good demand but no supply. This is really sad.

    Dear Ruth

These mugs were bespoke designs for Waitrose. We also sell Kew Gardens mugs on our shop http://www.english-table.com. You can buy them direct from us.

    Hope this helps!

    Kind regards

    Hello Tricia

These mugs were bespoke designs just for Waitrose. We also sell Kew Mugs from our website shop http://www.english-table.com (but not the designs that were in Waitrose).

Have a look at the selections on line and do get back to me if you have any other queries.

    Kind regards
