Nifty Fifties – Fanatasic new V&A 50′s inspired mugs
Can’t quite believe we’re nearly at Autumn Fair stage! But anyway, we’d thought we’d share this news with you all. We are about to launch a brand new range of V&A fine china can mugs with designs taken from the V&A archives.
The fifties were an exciting time for contemporary design, with many leading British manufacturers taking a lead in the commissioning and supporting young, talented artists and designers. This new-found zest for designs free from the constraints of tradition forged a climate of experimentation and innovation.
In homage to this era, Creative Tops are proud to present eight designs on mugs taken from the Victoria and Albert Museum’s textiles and wallpaper collections. They feature some of the genres most successful contemporary artists including Lucienne Day, Jacqueline Groag, Terence Conran and Marian Mahler.
*The designs shown in the image are Marian, Chequers and Small Hours and there are five other patterns in the range.
